Club of the month for May 2022: York County Flyers in York, South Carolina.
This AMA Gold Leader club was established back in 1987 and is devoted to promoting interest in building, flying, and enjoying model aviation. Their field is an old landfill area leased by the county, with whom, they have a long-standing relationship.
Their field includes a 700'x300' grass runway, 8 shaded pit stations, observation area, picnic tables, electricity, clubhouse, and more.
York County Flyers sponsor a variety of fly-in & community events including: The Rock Hill Hospice and Community Center, the David Griffin Aviation Foundation, an open house RC event at the local Rock Hill Airport, and area school STEM programs.
The club has experienced a rapid increase in membership and have been very busy with their "Introductory to RC Flying" program for many new young & old members.
