The Northern Virginia Radio Control Club (NVRC) #636 is an AMA Gold Leader Club and one of the largest FAA-Recognized Identification Areas (FRIAs) radio control clubs in Virginia with over 200 members. The club operates two flying fields, one at Poplar Ford Park in Centreville and one in Lorton. In existence for over 50 years, NVRC is proud to be a club where everyone is welcome.
The club includes pilots in all areas of radio-controlled flight: sport, giant scale, electric, sailplane, aerobatics, combat, and rotor. NVRC has members with decades of expertise to share in many types of flying and building. Whether you’re a beginner or someone looking for advanced techniques, there are volunteer instructors to provide assistance. Â鶹ÊÓƵ provides access to both flying fields, events, and free RC flight instruction.
The club hosted many events this year: Snow Fun Fly, West Potomac HS Indoor Fun Fly, Club Build Contest, Spring Fun Fly & Swap Meet, FPV Field Day, Open House & Community Day, Multi-GP Racing, Biplane Fun Fly, Leesburg Airshow, Glider Day, and Fall Chicken Fly. You can see they keep their members and guests pretty busy.
