MUNCIE IN. Beginning Monday, July 26, the world’s largest air show, , will draw tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts from around the world and the �鶹��Ƶ (AMA) will be there to help celebrate this iconic event. Hosted by AMA partner, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, AirVenture will span one week in what is anticipated to be a record-breaking turnout following the cancellation of the 2020 event because of COVID-19. 

AirVenture 2021 will not disappoint when it comes to the effort to include model aviation, from traditional trainers to multirotors. To help inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts, AMA will support KidVenture, with assistance from AMA chartered clubs and volunteers, a long-standing tradition. AMA will also be there with AMA’s simulator trailer, located along the main runway. We will help run the booth in the EAA Chapter Barn (blue barn) in support of EAA’s Young Eagles RC design-and-build program and will actively help with the evening RC flying at Pioneer Field. The twilight air show in the ultralight area will also include some exciting RC flying.

Something new is coming to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA’s) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Beginning July 29, the EAA will host the AMA’s National UAS4STEM competition during AirVenture. AMA’s national contest, which first took place in 2016, simulates a search-and-rescue mission utilizing unmanned drones. 

“After the cancellation of the 2020 competition, we couldn’t think of a better way to make the 2021 event special than showcasing what the world of aviation has to offer these youth at AirVenture,” stated Kyle Jaracz, AMA Education director. High school teams of four to 10 members each, will converge in an area located at the southwest edge of the EAA property for the 2021 competition on July 29-30.
